10th Anniversary & Seminar at WVTAA HQ School, 2008!

The WVTAA HQ school will be celebrating it's 10th anniversary at its current location. Sifu Darrell Jordan, President & Founder of the WVTAA will be conducting a seminar and workshops on May 31 - June 1st, 2008. Certicates of participation will be awarded to those that attend both days and food/drink will be provided. Cost for the weekend seminar will be $40.00. Some of the topics covered will be; beginning foundation, interactive drills, understanding leverage through geometry, rolling hands, feel space go forward and intermediate foundation. Sifu Scott Haynes Promoted to Head Instrcutor WVTAA HQ School!

Sifu Scott Haynes after having taken his 2nd Degree Black Sash test on the 22nd of March has been promoted to Head Instructor of the WVTAA HQ School located in Orlando FL. Sifu Scott has been a student and subsequent Disciple of Sifu Darrell Jordan for 6 years. Sifu Scott takes the reigns of the school from Sifu Joe Garcia who is a Police Officer in Central Florida. Sifu Darrell recognizes both of these individuals for their hard work and dedication to Ving Tsun and the Ving Tsun family. Thank you for your deligence and self sacrafice. Congratulations Scott on your new promotion.

Chan Chee Man DVD "New!"

The long awaited and much in demand DVD release of Grandmaster Chan Chee Man is finally available. The original VHS version was great but this one is super! This has been edited with much new material that does not appear on the VHS version. Limited amount of copies available on this first run, so order now for your personal library.

WVTAA 2007 Hall Of Fame Annoucement!

September 01, 2007: It is with great pleasure that the Executive Committee for the World Ving Tsun Athletic Association announce the induction of the 2007 3rd Annual HOF for Grandmaster and Sifu of the year. The Grandmaster of the year has been awarded to WANG KIU along with the Sifu of the Year being awarded to RENE RITCHIE. The WVTAA Exucutive Committee extends its congratulations as well as our appreciation for all of the unselfish hard work both these gentlemen endure in propagating our beloved art of Ving Tsun. Please join us in congratulating them, thank you. (Note: the WVTAA never charges a fee for those who are inducted into its HOF)

Sifu Darrell Jordan's son Robert is now attending Florida State University!

Robert Jordan graduated from Winter Park High School class of 2007 and is now attending FL. State University and is majoring in Business. We at WVTAA wish Robert all the best during this wonderful time in his life. Congratulations Robert!

Sifu Darrell Jordan Certified as an Community Anti Terrorism Instructor.

Sifu Jordan was certified under the C.A.T. EYES program as a Community Anti Terrorism Instructor. As an instructor for this program, Sifu Jordan will educate the general public as well as corporations in the alert signals and indicators that could be possible terrorist activity. Sifu Jordan was extemely excited by this program knowing that as an Anti Terrorism instructor he personally can do more to impact the safety and wellfare of our country. Sifu Darrell Jordan is currently working on a SPIKE TV show!

Sifu Jordan may be seen at times as Corporal Jordan, most of the time though he spends serving as the Safety Manager as well as a Security Officer. The show Reality Racing airs on SPIKE TV at 9am on Saturday mornings.

Grandmaster CHAN CHEE MAN DVD release!

The interview cunducted with GM Chan Chee Man in Hong Kong is soon to be released on DVD. This new release will have never before seen footage. Advance orders will soon be accepted for this one of a kind DVD, so check back soon.

Two students promoted to SIFU to start the new year 2007!

Two members of the WVTAA HQ school took their Black Sash 1st Degree test over the weekend and both were subsequently promoted to the the title Sifu. Rohan "BB" Blake and Scott "The Machine" Haynes endured the 8 hour test on Saturday, 20 January 2007. Both had to demonstrate a proficient understanding of Ving Tsun coupled with the ability to enudure the rigid test in conditioning. Sifu Rohan and Scott have steadily attended class for over 4 years and are now assisting with teaching duties at the school. Congratulations to both these new Sifu, they are truly now on the path that never ends.

Grandmaster Yang Jwing Ming awarded WVTAA Lifetime Achievement Award

Saturday 09 December 2006 Orlando, FL. Sifu Darrell Jordan awarded Grandmaster Yang Jwing Ming a Lifetime Achievement Award for his life long contributions and dedication to authentic Chinese martial arts. Dr. Yang Jwing Ming is a specialist in Chin Na, Yang Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Gung. Dr. Yang is currently devolping the Retreat for those who would be interested in learning authentic Chinese martial art Chi Gung and Healing. The Retreat course is a 10 year program.

Sifu Gary Lam in WVTAA HOF announcement

November 29, 2006 Sifu Gary Lam was awarded the WVTAA HOF

On behalf of the WORLD VING TSUN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION, Sifu Gary Lam was awarded Sifu of the Year 2006 and received an award for the World Ving Tsun Athletic Association Hall of Fame for his contributions to Wing Chun/Ving Tsun. The award was presented by Robert Chu, WVTAA Vice President - USA, Founding Member and Life Member.

Lam Sifu was very happy to receive this honor and sees Ving Tsun/Wing Chun as one big family. He stated that everyone loves Ving Tsun/Wing Chun and we should all work together and research the system together and that no one is best! His intent is that we should all work together for the best of Ving Tsun/Wing Chun.

Lam Sifu was presented this award for his numerous DVD's instructing on various aspects of Ving Tsun/Wing Chun which are available at his website at: http://www.garylamwingchun.com

His approach to the Ving Tsun is that of a simple and practical system.Master Lam would be happy to meet Darrell Jordan and other WORLD VING TSUN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION members and looks forward to working and researching with them in the future.

28 Sept. 2006 The results are in from the WVTAA Executive Committee, the 2006 Hall of Fame Grandmaster of the Year is Chu Shong Tin, and Sifu of the Year is Gary Lam. Congratulations! (The WVTAA never charges an induction fee into its HOF)

CONGRATULATIONS to Sifu Joe Garcia!

Sifu Darrell Jordan attended the swearing in ceremony of Sifu Joe Garcia as a police officer with the Winter Springs Police Dept. Sifu Joe has worked diligently at his life dream of becoming a police officer. He attended the Police Academy for several months as well as maintaining responsiblities of teaching Ving Tsun at the WVTAA HQ School as Head Instructor. Sifu Joe is also the state representative of the WVTAA for the state of Florida. The ceremony was presided over by Chief Daniel Kerr. Best wishes to Sifu Joe, (or should we say Officer Joe?) and my advice to Officer Joe, "Always Check Your Six." Congratulations Sifu Joe!

Grandmaster Ron "The Black Dragon" Van Clief receives Lifetime Achievement Award in Orlando, FL.

Ron Van Clief Shidoshi, was awarded a WVTAA Life Time Achievement Award presented by Sifu Darrell Jordan at the 3rd World Karate Championship in Orlando Florida June 11th 2006. A Life Time Achievement Award was also awarded to Grandmaster Pierre T. Rene at the same event. Both men have studied Ving Tsun and both have over 50 years in the martial arts.

Grandmaster Douglas Lee (Lee Moy Shan) vists WVTAA HQ in Orlando, FL.

Grandmaster Lee Moy Shan visited with and lectured at the WVTAA HQ school on May 25th. During his visit GM Lee was presented with demonstrations of skill and competency for his evaluation. The highlite of the evening was the lecture from GM Lee in which he so eloquently weaved the experience of Ving Tsun into the life experience. The end of the night promotions were held wherein GM Lee and Sifu Jordan promoted Sifu Joe Garcia to 3rd degree Black Sash. Sifu Jordan presented GM Lee an Appreciation Plaque and Chop for his Life Long contributions to Ving Tsun Kung Fu.

Grandmaster Lok Yiu passes away!

Grandmaster Lok Yiu passed away on February 6th, 2006. GM Yiu was the second disciple of Great Grandmaster Yip Man. GM Yiu was a living legend in the Ving Tsun World and he will be missed dearly. The World Ving Tsun Athletic Association extends it's condolences to family and friends.

WVTAA 1st Degree Promotion 23 January 2006

Was awarded to Sifu Ruphine Powell last night. Sifu Powell has been training at the Headquaters school for 4 1/2 years. On Sunday he took his test for 1st degree (8 hour test)which is considered Sifu level. Among other challenges he personally faced for this test was his age, Sifu Powell is nearly 50 years old! Now there is some dedication. Congratulations Sifu Powell on a job well done.

In Memory of Sifu ROCKY BYARS

My good friend Sifu Rocky Byars passed away monday, Nov. 5th 2001. Sifu Rocky had a great sense of humor and was quick to laugh along with you, and man, what a fantastic positve attitude he had. His martial skill for those that didn't know him were beyond reproach. Powerful, fast, and light on his feet, he could have you traveling through the air and heading towards the ground in a blink of an eye. I have been blessed to have learned the Ch'ang Tai Chi form, postures, and Shuia Chiao throws from him while he was living in Orlando. God Bless you Rocky and God Speed.
